Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, says Nigeria is so complex as a country and there is not much anyone can do about it.
He also said President Bola Tinubu has done well given the prevailing circumstances.
Speaking on Sunday when he received the comptroller-general and members of the management team of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Daura, Katsina state, Buhari said governing Nigeria is a tough job for anyone.
He asked Nigerians to endure the economic hardship in the country and support the policies and programmes of the current administration.
“I thank you very much for coming. I very much appreciate it. I thought Tinubu has done very well,” Buhari said.
“Nigeria is so complex. Really, there isn’t much anybody can do.”
On his part, comptroller-general of customs, Bashir Adeniyi, commended the former president for “transforming the NCS” during his stint in office.
Adeniyi said the service would continue to ensure that the country’s borders are secured in order to enhance Nigeria’s economy.
