Senator Godswill Akpabio has been eleted the President of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Akpabio was subsequently Sworn-in by the clerk of the National Assembly.
The Roving Pen reports that Senator Godswill Akpabio is the preferred candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Akpabio polled a total votes cast of 63 to defeat his opponent, Abdul-Azeez Yari.
The Roving Pen had earlier reported that open-secret ballot process was adopted in electing the principal officers.
