Why We Celebrated Xmas With Rural Dwellers – HSM President

The Convener and President of the Harvesters of Souls Ministry, Adeniran Oladele, has explained the reason behind the yearly Christmas outreach of the ministry.
He spoke during this year’s edition held in a village in Orile Oko, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to him, the Good Shepherd Christmas Outreach started 11 years ago in 2013 and it’s a vision born out of reaching out to the lost which is the essence of Christmas and to celebrate the joy of the season with those who may not have anything to celebrate the birth of Christ.
Responding to a question on the reason the ministry celebrates Christmas outside the city centre, Oladele said “Many times, dwellers in the cities have the best feel of Christmas with several outreaches, lights, Santa clause and many freebies. The common people in the village do not have this opportunity and the question is who are those who will leave the comfort of the city to be on the go to celebrate with the villagers.”
He said the ministry has covered 20 villages in each year of this outreach across Odeda LG, Abeokuta North, Ewekoro, Imeko Afon, Yewa South and recently Remo North.
He said “It’s special because of the sacrifice everyone on the go make. We are mostly professionals with members denying themselves of the most desired vacation and family togetherness during the season.
“It’s always a joy to see the villagers receiving the word of life, enjoy the Christmas Jollof rice, the free medical outreach, distribution of food and relief items and the Santa clause for the children. It’s an experience that everyone must have in a lifetime and see how joyful Christmas can be.”
Speaking on other programmes of the ministry, the President said “The Christmas Outreach is not just a once and for all thing as we will have a 12 weeks Discipleship Class to follow up on the villagers…that starts in January.
“We organize Youth for Christ International focussing on raising youths as Kingdom Ambassadors.
“We organize annual Easter Concert tagged WWW.COM (WHY WE WORSHIP CHRIST OUR MESSAIAH)
“We also have THE REAL MEN CONFERENCE tagged STANDING TALL. This is aimed to raise godly Fathers raising godly children.
“We also organize GOD’s BATTLE AXE bringing campus Fellowship executives together regardless of denominations.”
He called on Nigerians to believe in the message of hope.
“Nigerians should believe in the message of hope. God is not done with Nigerians yet. What is not working now will begin to work.
“The same way God redeemed humanity, our nation is going to progress, things will begin to turn around for the good of our nation,” he said.
