Traditional rulers and prominent politicians from Oke Ogun in Oyo North Senatorial District, Oyo State, have endorsed Governor Seyi Makinde, as their preferred candidate for the Saturday’s election in the state.
Shina Peller, a serving member of House of Representatives and Senatorial candidate of Accord Party, disclosed this on Wednesday, in a post on his Facebook page.
He said the decision was taken at the the Palace of Okere of Sakiland in Saki.
The post reads “Yesterday, I attended a meeting held between all the Oke Ogun royal fathers and prominent politicians across different parties in the ten local government areas that make up the Oke Ogun region.
“The purpose of the meeting, which was held at the Palace of Okere of Sakiland, was to xray the three major political parties in the state with a view to determining where Oke Ogun people will have their interests defended and their political benefits derived.
“After extensive deliberation, everyone unanimously agreed to adopt Engr. Seyi Makinde as our candidate in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state. The resolution was reached in the best interest of the Oke Ogun region.”
