Obi We Know, Abure We Know, Who Are You?’, OBIdients Reject LP Factional Leader, Apapa
In a counter-attack, supporters of Labour Party (LP), popularly called ‘OBIdients’ have refuted claims by Bashir Apapa, a factional leader of Labour Party, that he has their backing as the acting chairman of the party.
Apapa, in an interview Sunday, had said Obi’s supporters are backing his chairmanship position — a claim many OBIdients describe as “daydreaming” and out of reality.
“I think they (OBIdients) are on my side. Let me tell you why I said so. Are OBIdients not Nigerians? We’re all Nigerians.
“Everybody has freedom to say whatever he likes without investigating what really transpired. If they know what transpired, they will know that they are acting out of ignorance,” Apapa replied when asked if he was conversant with the OBIdients on Twitter who are not happy with his emergency as the party’s acting leader.
OBIdients react
Displeased by the statement credited to the LP factional leader, some ‘OBIdients’ took to social media to fault the former’s claim adding that they don’t recognise his emergency as the leader of the party.
One of the supporters identified as Emmanuel Attat said; “Abure we know; Peter Obi, we know. Who are you, Lamidi Apapa? Olodi Apapa is more popular than Lamidi Apapa”.
“Tell Lamidi Apapa to go to Edo State and receive a presidential treatment & welcome greeting from Labour Party members there. They invited him yesterday as the party ‘chairman’. Edo State the home of the Obidient movement,”.
