ICAN Congratulates Senator Adeola On National Award 

ABUJA – The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria, (ICAN), has congratulated Senator Solomon Adeola, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance on the national Award of Commander of the Order of Niger, CON conferred on him by President Muhammadu Buhari recently. 

Presenting a congratulatory letter to the senator in his office on behalf of the President of ICAN, Mallam Tijjani Musa Isa, Dr. Innocent Okwuosa, the Vice President of the institute stated that the award was in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the development of the nation adding that the prestigious award is “a testimony to your track record and well -rounded professional career”

The ICAN President further stated that, “It is our believe that you will continue to discharge your responsibility with integrity and exemplary leadership style that have distinguished you as one of the most respected technocrats Nigeria can boast of today”.

Senator Adeola, a Fellow of ICAN in his response stated that he is always excited with the knowledge that his institute appreciates his efforts in keeping the flag of the accountancy profession flying in Nigeria as a technocrat in government stressing that he is proud of the training and retraining offered by the institute to all accountants.

“I will continue to be part of the effort to ensure that ICAN remains the foremost accounting body in Nigeria responsible for maintaining the highest standards, values and ethics of the profession. Other bodies are welcome but should not constitute a source of lowering standards already in place through ICAN” he stated.

Among other bodies that have congratulated the senators are Lagos State Government, Fiscal Responsibility Commission, FRC, Nigeria Institute of Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, ExxonMobil, Yewa Descendant Union, Abuja as well as his colleagues in the Senate, and other individuals.
