EXCLUSIVE: Gov. Abiodun Dissolves Cabinet – UPDATED

....I've not dissolved my cabinet - Gov. Abiodun

ABEOKUTA – Unconfirmed reports indicated that, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has dissolved the State Executive Council cabinet.

THE ENCOUNTER NEWS exclusively gathered that, the governor announced the dissolution through a letter from office of the Secretary to the Ogun State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi.

According to an impeccable source from the governor’s office, the SSG told the Permanent Secretaries in the affected ministries to take over the affairs of their ministries.

Our reporter reliably gathered that, many of the outgone commissioners have begun lobbying some of the governor’s principal officers such as the Deputy Chief of Staff and SSG for reappointment, while some APC members and defected opposition members are already jostling for juicy positions in the new cabinet.

However, rumour miffed that some commissioners who lost their local government and polling units in the last governorship elections may not return.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government has refuted the report being circulated on some social media platforms, claiming that the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, has dissolved the State Executive Council.

In a statement issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Kunle Somorin, described the report as not only untrue, but misleading.

According to him, Governor Abiodun, having won his reelection, has continued to perform his functions as governor by working with members of his cabinet.

Somorin, who affirmed that the state exco is still intact as the governor has not directly or indirectly announced any dissolution, urged the people to disregard the report, which according to him is the figment of the imagination of the writer of the story.
