Caretaker C’ttee Transfers Power To New Ogun PDP Excos

 

Caretaker Committee chaired by Hon Dada Awoleye on Monday transfered powers to the newly elected executive of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

The interim executive was set up by the national leadership of PDP to midwive new leadership election following the crisis rocking the party.

Last month, the committee conducted a state Congress where Abayomi Tella emerged as the chairman.

 

But on Monday, Awoleye
inaugurated its newly elected executive to steer the affairs of the party in the state.

The inauguration and handling over ceremony was held on Monday at party’s secretariat in Abeokuta,the state capital.

Awoleye, while handling over the certificate of return to Tella, encouraged the excos to do all it can in securing the party’s victory in the next elections.

Awoleye also tasked the executives with bringing the state’s disgruntled party members together, maintaining that the party’s success depends on its togetherness.

Tella assured that the new leaders would do all it can to rejuvenate and reposition the party ahead of 2027.

“In the face of law that created the party called PDP and in the compliance with that a congress was conducted and that’s the legal congress, any other one is nullity.

” I have a team which is ready to carry on. We are going with that spirit to meet our people even those in the other party who are currently suffering and smiling to tell them ‘come we built this party together so come back’,” Tella said.
