#NigeriaDecides2023: Ogun Speaker Laments Late Arrival Of Voting Materials, BVAS Malfunctions

ABEOKUTA – The Speaker of the Ogun State House Assembly, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has lamented the late arrival of voting materials and malfunctioning of Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) in some parts of the state.

Oluomo also lamented shortfall of ballot papers, especially that of House of Representatives and Senate in some polling units.

The Speaker stated this after casting his vote at his polling unit in Ifo Local government area of the state.

Oluomo called on INEC to address the issues of BVAS malfunctioning and late arrival of materials ahead of the Governorship and State of Assembly elections.

The Speaker berated INEC for not inadequately training the adhoc staff on the use of BVAS machines.

He said, “Like in my ward, ward 1, the RAC centre is not properly staffed. As I speak now, the last set of materials are just leaving the place.

“We have the most populated polling unit in Coker, ward 10, unit 9, that is where the number of the most registered voters, the BVAS is totally misbehaving.”
