The Coordinator of the Ogun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Women Parliament, Hon Titilayo Ojeleye has called for united front in the opposition party ahead of the 2023 elections in the state.

According to her, except the party shuns the division of the past, winning next year election in the state might be just another illusion or day dream.

Ojeleye who is the PDP Chairman in Ewekoro Local Government, said if the party does not want to suffer failure in 2023 just as it did in 2011, 2015 and 2019 in the state, it must bury all the internal wranglings and decide to work as indivisible family to displace the APC led government that had heaped so much hardship and sorrow on Nigerians.

Ojeleye made this call at a forum to drum a united front for the party.

The PDP stalwart disclosed that rather than hiding under hypocritical statements like “all is well with our party” “we are good, and we have no problem amongst our rank and files” the leaders of the party should sincerely get down to work and ensure that the party is truly united.

She said “of course, we have all come together under the PDP umbrella to pitch our political ideologies.  These ideologies are foremost about being good stewards of the people that we represent.  A house that is however divided against itself will always fall against external attack.

“We have fallen several times, is it not enough?  Let us build together ideologies of unity that bring progress to the people instead of ideologies of division that keeps us being the losing party.  I am tired of losing, I am tired of seeing my people suffer unnecessarily because the party in power has no vision for them.  Are you tired too? If you are, then let us come together as one and see to it that we are one unified force.

“Let us stop the favoritism of promoting one’s kith and kin as against who can do the right job . Let us stop promoting unequal sharing of resourcesLet us meet regularly to discuss our problems and not wait until they escalate.

“Let us come together with clear policies and programs to help our people meet the challenges of today and tomorrow . Let us come with mobilization strategies that wake up our people on the importance of why they must vote PDP into power again.

“Let us go to the grassroots and work with the people on what they want from us when we get into power. Let us draw up policies and programs that will bring their needs to a fulfillment . This is the only way to gain the trust and confidence of the people. This is the only way to get reelected into power from now on.”
The Coordinator appreciated the National Coordinator, Yetunde Odubote; the Patron, Hon Adebayo Babawande, Hon Temitayo Okuboyejo, Hon Taiwo Jigan, for their roles in strengthening the opposition party.
She also applauded  Ogun State PDP Chairman, Hon Sikirullahi Ogundele and the Secretary, Sunday Solarin, for their commitment to the peace and stability of the PDP in the state.
