Amalgamated Atiku Support Group (AASG) has felicitated with Christians and Nigerians on the occasion of 2021 Christmas celebration, urging them to mark the festive period moderately.
The statement signed by Olusegun ‘Pelumi-Olukoga, the Acting National Director, Media & Publicity, reads “Christmas which marks the birth of JESUS Christ means hope and restoration to faithful; as such, AASG enjoins Nigerians to show a heart of gratitude to God for witnessing another Yuletide despite the social economic, political and security turbulences associated with year 2021.
“More importantly, the group wants members of the public to exhibit happiness for surviving COVID-19 pandemic and its attendant complications, which continue to pose threat to human activities and survival means since 2020.
“We are all beneficiaries of divine benevolence, grace and glory. So as we honour and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we must all continue to give thanks to the Almighty from the depth of our hearts as living souls whom GOD has preserved to see the end of the outgoing year, 2021.
“Meanwhile, in the true meaning of Christmas, the group wants everyone to keep hope alive, celebrate with moderation while also reaching out to neighbours and people around, most especially the less privileged in the society, by showing some love and giving of gift items.
“We urge the people to be responsible while celebrating the Christmas and New Year seasons, while we further enjoin everyone to continue to observe Covid-19 protocols in order to contain the new wave of the pandemic which medical experts say is deadlier than the first, second and third variants.”
