The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Prince Adebayo Abdul-Salam Ayorinde has expressed his condolence to the Dosunmu Royal Family of Owu Kingdom and the Ogun state traditional council over the passage of the Olowu of Owu, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu.
The late Oba Dosunmu joined his ancestors on Sunday, December 12, 2021 after a brief illness.
Ayorinde in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Femi Peters described the demise of the first class traditional ruler at this time as a great loss not only to Owu Kingdom, but to the people and government of Ogun state, as well as the country at large.
According to him, late Olowu was a highly revered monarch whose 16-year reign on the throne of his forebears helped in uniting Owu Sons and Daughters, while attracting significant development and progress to his people.
“On behalf of the government and people of Abeokuta North, I convey my deepest condolences to the immediate family of Oba Dosunmu and the entire Owu Kingdom over the huge loss of our highly revered royal father, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu.”
Kabiyesi was a distinguished traditional ruler who dedicated his time to the unity and advancement of Owu Kingdom. This endeared him to his subjects and all those who related with him.
“While we would surely miss Kabiyesi’s royal counsels, fatherly guidance and advice, we draw comfort from his deep compassion, profound sense of wisdom, direction and inspiration to us all.
“I pray the Almighty God grant repose to the soul of the late monarch and grant the Dosunmu Royal Family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” the Chairman noted.
