The All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State on Sunday denied endorsing any candidate ahead of the July 24 council polls in the state.
There have been controversies over the party leaders’ choice in the council, with different political groups declaring supports for different aspirants.
But the APC Youth League in a statement made available to our correspondent bt the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Balogun Olasupo explained that the group belongs to the party and “will wait until the State working committee of the party decides on who is to be the flag bearer of the party in coming local government polls.”
It reads “The attention of the All Progressive Youth league, Abeokuta South Chapter has been drawn to a spurious joint press statement made by some unknown men who claim to have represented the group at the endorsement rally organized by some unknown group.
“The group speaking through her Public Relations Officer, Com. Olasupo Balogun said the group doesn’t recognize any of those who claim to have represented the group and have not endorse anyone as its candidate
“He further clarifies that the group belong to the party and will wait until the State working committee of the party decide on who is to be the flag bearer of the party in coming local government polls
“He further warns anyone/set of people who have been going about collecting money from aspirant to support them to desist from such or face the wrath of the law as the group is legally registered and will not hesitate to charge anyone who wants to ruin the image of the group.”
