Five men have allegedly gang raped a lady (name withheld) in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The perpetrators reportedly belong to the notorious cult group known as “one million boys.”
But operatives of Ogun Police command yesterday arrested three of the suspects, while two others escaped.
The suspects – Sola Olaoluwa, Ibrahim Kehinde and Lukman Banjoko were arrested following a complaint by the victim lodged at Ogijo divisional police station.
A statement by Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, in Abeokuta, on Tuesday disclosed that the victim had told the police that she met one of the suspects, simply identified as “Enny Money” who shared a mobile App with her on the phone.
According to her, the suspect assured her that the App once installed on the phone, will friends who assist her (victim) financially.
She further told the police that as soon as she installed the App, one man whom she later known to be the same “Enny Money” started chatting with her and invited her to Idimogun area of Ogijo.
“On getting there, she was lured into a house where she was subsequently gang raped by five men who called themselves members of one million boys.
“The gang according to the victim forced her to submission when they pointed gun to her and while they were taking turn to rape her, one of them was video recording the action with his phone,” the victim was quoted, saying.
The Police Publicist said following receipt of the report the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ogijo division, Muhammed Baba Suleiman dispatched his detectives to go after the hoodlums.
He said the detectives succeeded in apprehending the duo of Sola Olaoluwa and Ibrahim Kehinde on July 24.
According to him, their arrest led the detectives to the third suspect Lukman Banjoko who was arrested on the 26th of this month.
Oyeyemi disclosed that, during the interrogation, the suspects confessed to have committed the crime.
He added that, the suspects further confessed that the victim was the second person they gang raped in that area.
The Police Spokesman said items recovered from them were: one toy gun with which they used to force their victim to submission and the phone which they used to video record their dastardly act.
Oyeyemi, however, hinted that, the Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun had ordered the transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for thorough investigation and directed that the remaining members of the gang be hunted and brought to justice.
